Grassroots Support Helps Lampkin Take His Campaign Directly to District 3 Residents
Since qualifying as a candidate, D'Andre Lampkin has been walking neighborhoods, knocking on doors, and sitting with families — building a campaign one conversation at a time.
Ontario City Council candidate D'Andre Lampkin is building a resident-focused campaign centered on neighborhood conversations, community service, and grassroots support.
D'Andre D. Lampkin's campaign for Ontario City Council, District 3, is moving directly into the neighborhoods of South Ontario.
Since qualifying as a candidate, Lampkin has begun walking communities throughout District 3, knocking on doors, speaking with residents, and accepting invitations to sit with families in their homes. The conversations are helping shape a campaign focused on the practical concerns residents experience every day.
Lampkin said the approach reflects the kind of councilmember he hopes to become: accessible, prepared, and willing to listen before making decisions.
"This campaign is not being built from behind a desk," Lampkin said. "It is being built one conversation, one neighborhood, and one relationship at a time."
Listening Directly to Residents
During Lampkin's first neighborhood walks, residents shared both optimism about Ontario's future and concerns about whether infrastructure and public services are keeping pace with the city's growth.
Residents praised Ontario's clean neighborhoods, public safety, new roads, shopping, entertainment, downtown revitalization, professional baseball, Ontario International Airport, and continued investment in South Ontario.
They also raised concerns about:
- Traffic and aggressive driving near schools
- Road conditions and unfinished infrastructure
- Illegal dumping and neighborhood litter
- Mail theft
- Event-related parking
- Flies, mosquitoes, dairy odors, and wildlife displacement
- The need for more libraries, shopping, and community amenities
- Whether development is producing visible benefits for current residents
Lampkin said the early conversations revealed a consistent message.
"Residents are proud of Ontario and generally optimistic about its direction," Lampkin said. "They want growth to continue, but they also want it to remain thoughtful, safe, clean, orderly, and responsive to the people who already live here."
A Campaign Built on Service
Lampkin's candidacy is grounded in a record of public safety, civic leadership, business ownership, nonprofit service, and emergency-management experience.
He has served Ontario as a Planning Commissioner and has spent more than 20 years working in law enforcement and public safety. He is also the founder and president of the D'Andre D. Lampkin Foundation, through which he has supported youth development, food assistance, neighborhood service, disaster preparedness, and community resilience.
Lampkin said the campaign's message — Service • Experience • Community — reflects work that began long before he decided to seek elected office.
"I did not begin serving Ontario because I planned to run for office," Lampkin said. "I decided to run because years of service showed me how much can be accomplished when residents, businesses, nonprofits, employees, and civic leaders work together."
Why Grassroots Support Matters
Neighborhood walks, community meetings, printed materials, digital outreach, voter communication, and volunteer coordination all require resources.
Lampkin said contributions from residents and supporters will help the campaign continue reaching voters directly without losing its community-centered focus.
"Every contribution helps us print literature, communicate with residents, organize neighborhood walks, support volunteers, and ensure voters have an opportunity to learn who I am and what this campaign represents," Lampkin said.
The campaign welcomes support at every level. A small contribution can help provide door hangers, postcards, yard signs, digital outreach, or materials for a neighborhood conversation.
Lampkin said grassroots contributions also send a broader message.
"When people invest in this campaign, they are helping demonstrate that public leadership can be earned through service, preparation, relationships, and trust," Lampkin said. "This campaign belongs to the residents and supporters who believe Ontario's future should be shaped by people who are willing to listen and do the work."
Continuing Through District 3
Lampkin plans to continue walking neighborhoods throughout District 3 and inviting residents to share their priorities.
His emerging campaign priorities include:
Thoughtful Growth and Infrastructure — Ensuring roads, utilities, and public services keep pace with Ontario's expansion.
Safe, Prepared, and Resilient Neighborhoods — Strengthening public safety, emergency preparedness, and community recovery.
Jobs and Economic Opportunity — Creating pathways connecting Ontario residents to local jobs, workforce training, and small-business opportunities.
Responsible Stewardship and Accountable Government — Promoting transparency, sound financial management, and ethical decision-making.
Communication and Community Trust — Improving communication between City Hall and residents and ensuring a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their neighborhoods.
Residents can support the campaign by making a contribution, volunteering, requesting a yard sign, hosting a neighborhood conversation, or sharing campaign updates with friends and neighbors.
"Not everyone can knock on doors or attend every event," Lampkin said. "But every person can help in some way — by contributing, volunteering, sharing information, making an introduction, or simply encouraging someone else to participate."
Supporters who believe in experienced, accessible, and community-rooted leadership are invited to help Lampkin continue taking his campaign directly to District 3 residents.
