Christian Garcia has endorsed D'Andre Lampkin for Ontario City Council District 3 — and his endorsement carries something that a campaign flyer cannot manufacture: years of shared work, a friendship built through service, and a memory that says more about character than any résumé ever could.
How They Met
Garcia first crossed paths with Lampkin about six years ago, when both were active in the community and moving in some of the same circles. Coming from the nonprofit sector himself, Garcia knew what genuine community commitment looked like — and he recognized it in Lampkin.
"It was a pleasant surprise to meet a community leader who did things most often when no one was looking," Garcia wrote in his endorsement.
That observation — when no one was looking — is the kind of thing you can only say about someone you have actually watched work. It is not a talking point. It is a witness account.
A Day of Service in Downtown Ontario
One experience Garcia highlighted stands out for what it reveals about both men.
About four years ago, Garcia brought his sons to volunteer on a project at Bethel Congregational Church in Downtown Ontario — a D'Andre Lampkin Foundation effort to restore the church's exterior. It was the kind of unglamorous, hands-on community work that rarely makes headlines.
During that effort, someone drove by and shouted slurs at the volunteers. Lampkin apologized to Garcia and his sons for their exposure to the hostility.
Garcia's response was immediate and clear.
"I told him that day that I was proud to stand by the side of those doing the real work in our city," he wrote.
That moment — the slur, the apology, the response — is the foundation of Garcia's endorsement. He was not watching from a distance. He was there, with his family, doing the work alongside Lampkin. And when the day took an ugly turn, what he saw was a leader who cared about the people around him.
Standing Alongside the Campaign
Garcia is now supporting Lampkin's campaign through door knocking, phone calls, and conversations with neighbors across District 3. He also noted a personal milestone: placing the first campaign sign in his yard that did not bear his own name.
"Today I continue to stand by his side during this campaign," Garcia wrote.
His support connects the community work he witnessed years ago with the effort he is making today — helping neighbors learn about Lampkin's candidacy one conversation at a time. For residents who are still deciding, Garcia offers the perspective of someone who has volunteered alongside Lampkin, watched him lead under pressure, and chosen to show up for him in return.

Garcia closed his endorsement with a message aimed directly at voters:
"District 3, you have always been D'Andre's first choice, and I encourage you this election to return the favor."
